Meet the Artist

Douglas Bruce Lutz is a craftsman living in Chamberino, New Mexico and owner of dadowoodworking.

His furniture is found in homes throughout the United States. His picture frames are found in private collections and museums across the US. Doug delivers locally, ships nationwide, and is available to help with commercial installations.

Dadowoodworking is a name that reflects both craftsmanship and personal history. My name is Douglas, and I founded this workshop partly as a tribute to my late twin brother, David, who was a master carpenter. The name "dadowoodworking" not only represents a fundamental woodworking technique, the dado joint, but also intertwines our initials—DA from David and DO from Douglas.

Pronounced "day-dough," our brand symbolizes a fusion of traditional craftsmanship with a deeply personal story. Through my work, I strive to honor the memory of David, infusing each piece with the excellence and passion we both shared for woodworking.

MY PROMISE

I’ll only work with the best materials available and provide a one-year guarantee on all labor. I never compromise quality for time and give my clients realistic schedules that accommodate their lives. I strive for honest customer service.

“Dadowoodworking was extremely professional and did an excellent job on repairing my 3 chairs. They not only repaired them being loose, but even reenforce them so that they'll last longer. They were able to recreate the same design for the bottom supports so they matched the original. Well definitely be going back to have them do more work. Thanks again!”
